About Our Organisation

The Water Authority of Fiji is a corporate body established under the Water Authority of Fiji Act 2007 to make provision for the effective management and administration of the Water and the wastewater systems.

We are responsible for providing access to quality drinking water and wastewater services to over 159,000 and 33,540 residential and non-residential metered customers in the urban areas of Fiji and also setting up water supply systems in rural areas.

Position Objective

The Graduate Trainee in Data Analytics within the Research Monitoring & Evaluation Units, will be part of an innovative and dynamic team committed to harnessing data to improve the department’s services, drive efficiency, and support strategic decision-making

Key Accountabilities

The Graduate Trainee will be provided training in these following areas:

  1. Collaborating with the respective internal departments team to collect, process, and analyze data related to infrastructure performance and key performance indicators
  2. Assisting in developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making and operational efficiency
  3. Working on predictive and prescriptive analytics projects to optimize resource allocation and improve service delivery
  4. Learning and applying data modelling, cleansing, and validation techniques to ensure the accuracy and reliability of datasets
  5. Supporting the implementation of data-driven initiatives, including machine learning and ICT applications
  6. Participating in cross-functional teams and contribute to projects aimed at operational efficiencies, financial sustainability, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance
  7. Ensuring up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and the water sector
Qualification and Experience Requirement
  • Degree in any of these discipline – Mathematic, Statistics, Computer Science or Economics or any relevant discipline in the area of development
  • The candidate is expected to have completed the requirements of the degree either by graduation or providing a letter of completion (Program Completion) from the respective institution
