About Our Organisation
The Water Authority of Fiji is a corporate body established under the Water Authority of Fiji Act 2007 to make provision for the effective management and administration of the Water and the wastewater systems.
We are responsible for providing access to quality drinking water and wastewater services to over 159,000 and 33,540 residential and non-residential metered customers in the urban areas of Fiji and also setting up water supply systems in rural areas.
Position Objective
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing the financial and operational performance of the organisation and recommends efficiency gains to increase profitability. The position reports to the Manager Research Monitoring & Evaluation.

- Gather information through research, interviews and review of existing documentation
- Develop Concept Notes based on the Water Sector Strategy 2050 response strategies
- Policy review and writing to ensure it meets objectives and suggests improvements
- Drafting of Corporate Documents and Strategic Plans
- Timely, relevant and compliant reporting
- All internal and external (if any) reporting requirements in regard to WAF's operations are fully understood and correctly executed
- Robust, quality and relevant periodic reports are prepared and submitted as requested.
- Superiors provided with useful information combined with analysis and interpretation, for the purpose of decision making
- Ad-hoc information requests by superiors addressed in a timely manner
- All internal and external (if any) reporting requirements in regard to WAF's operations are fully understood and correctly executed
- A growing/developing MEL Function
- Monitor, Evaluate WAF’s Strategic Plan, Annual Business Plan and also Sector Plans
- Prepare Quarterly report with updated Dashboards by SBU and Functions
- Prepare Board Dashboards for Monthly Board meeting
- Monitor Non-Revenue-Water for each quarter
- General Management of the Role of SBA
- Procedures and compliance reviewed and continuously improved
- Improvements in member/customer/stakeholder service levels ensured
- Growth in efficiency and effectiveness supported
- Improvements from the application of new technology supported
- Effective oversight, coaching, and mentoring of staff delivered
- Opportunities for succession planning identified
- Training needs for staff effectively monitored in partnership with the MSP and GMCCS and appropriately addressed in consultation with the HR Department
- Relevant performance measures established for staff, timely performance appraisals carried out and action items resolved (supporting strengths and weaknesses) in consultation with the HR Department and other relevant parties
- Disciplinary actions carried out in consultation with the HR Department and in full compliance with all relevant laws, legislations and internal requirements

Qualification and Experience Requirement
- The Applicant must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Strategic Management, Commerce, Finance, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
- A postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Public Policy, Strategic Management, Economics, Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Data Analytics, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of seven (7) years' relevant experience in business analysis, corporate planning, policy development, research, performance monitoring, strategic planning, or a similar role, preferably within a large organisation, public sector entity, or utility environment
