The Water Authority of Fiji is a corporate body established under the Water Authority of Fiji Act 2007 to make provision for the effective management and administration of the Water and the wastewater systems.
We are responsible for providing access to quality drinking water and wastewater services to over 159,000 and 33,540 residential and non-residential metered customers in the urban areas of Fiji and also setting up water supply systems in rural areas.
The Technical Officer (Maritime & Outer Islands) is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of WAF’s daily operations across the designated maritime and outer islands, ensuring the continuous provision of quality and safe drinking water in accordance with Fiji National Drinking Water Quality Standards (FNDWQS). The position oversees island operations and water-related service requests; manages fuel for island installations; maintains pumps and generator sets (gensets); carries out valve operations; drives Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction at island level; manages rosters and overtime prudently in line with the WAF HR Policy; provides consistent and timely operational reporting; and represents WAF at stakeholder meetings in the islands. The Technical Officer ensures full compliance with WAF policies, including the WAF HR Policy, Procurement Policy, Inventory SOPs and the OHS Management System (OHSMS). The position reports to the Supervisor Maritime & Outer Islands.
