System Design and Implementation:

• Circuit Design: Assist in design electrical circuits for control panels, motor drives, and power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
• Control Systems: Assist in development and implementation of control systems for automation and monitoring, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• System Coordination: Coordinate with mechanical engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that electrical systems support and enhance the functionality of mechanical systems.

Installation Oversight:

• Supervision: Assist in overseeing the installation of electrical systems, ensuring work is performed according to design specifications and industry best practices. Manage installation teams and subcontractors.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and testing of installed systems to verify that they meet design specifications and performance criteria. Address any issues or deficiencies promptly.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Preventive Maintenance:
  • Maintenance Planning: Assist in developing and managing preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems, including scheduling regular inspections, servicing, and replacements. Create maintenance checklists and procedures.
• Corrective Maintenance:
  • Issue Diagnosis: Assist in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical failures, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques. Analyse system performance data to identify root causes of issues.
  • Repair Management: Assist in performing corrective repairs, ensuring that all repairs are conducted safely and in accordance with industry standards. Verify that repaired systems are tested and functioning properly before returning them to service.
• System Monitoring:
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor the performance of electrical systems using diagnostic tools and SCADA systems. Analyse data to detect trends, predict potential failures, and optimize system performance.
  • Alerts and Alarms: Respond to system alerts and alarms, taking appropriate actions to mitigate any potential issues and minimize system downtime.

Operational Support:

• Technical Assistance:
  • Support Provision: Provide technical assistance to operations staff, including troubleshooting complex issues, offering solutions, and advising on system operation and maintenance.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for operations and maintenance staff on new systems, technologies, and best practices.
• Performance Optimization:
  • Efficiency Improvements: Identify and implement improvements to enhance the performance, efficiency, and reliability of electrical systems. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend upgrades or modifications as needed.
  • Process Optimization: Analyse operational processes and workflows to identify opportunities for streamlining and optimizing system operations.
• Inventory Management:
  • Assist in procurement of inventory items, pumps and equipment, as well as critical spares.
  • Conduct monthly stock takes for inventory items under M&E OPEX and CAPEX works, compile stock take report and reconcile for any variances.

Project Management:

• Project Planning:
  • Scope and Requirements: Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and requirements in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets. Develop and call out tenders for M&E related OPEX and CAPEX works.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise.
• Coordination:
  • Team Management: Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project execution. Facilitate communication between all parties involved to ensure alignment and resolve any conflicts.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular project reviews and inspections to monitor progress and verify adherence to project requirements.

Compliance and Safety:

• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Standards Adherence: Ensure that all electrical systems comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Assist in maintaining records of compliance activities, including inspections, certifications, and audits. Prepare documentation required for regulatory reporting and inspections.
• Safety Protocols:
  • Safety Procedures: Develop and enforce safety procedures related to electrical work, including lockout/tagout protocols, hazard assessments, and emergency response plans.
  • Training: Conduct safety training for staff, ensuring they are aware of potential hazards and follow proper safety practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Technical Documentation:
  • Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining a comprehensive documentation of system designs, modifications, maintenance activities, and compliance inspections. Ensure that all records are accurate, organized, and readily accessible.
  • Documentation Updates: Regularly update technical documentation to reflect changes in systems, procedures, or regulations.
• Reporting:
  • Performance Reports: Prepare detailed reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and project progress. Present findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
  • Incident Reports: Document and report on any incidents, including system failures, safety breaches, or regulatory non-compliance. Provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Genset Procurement and Management:

• Genset Procurement:
  • Needs Assessment: Assist in evaluating power requirements for facilities and determine specifications for gensets. Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical and operational requirements.
  • Vendor Selection: Manage the procurement process for gensets, including issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts. Select vendors based on quality, cost, and performance criteria.
• Installation and Commissioning:
  • Installation Oversight: Assist in overseeing the installation and integration of gensets, ensuring proper setup and connection to power systems. Coordinate with installation teams and vendors to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Perform thorough testing of installed gensets, including load testing and system integration checks. Ensure gensets are operational and meet performance expectations before final commissioning.
• Maintenance Management:
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Assist in the development and management of maintenance schedules for gensets, including routine inspections, servicing, and repairs. Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Monitoring: Monitor genset performance and operational status. Address any issues promptly and ensure gensets are available for emergency power as needed.
• Lifecycle Management:
  • Performance Evaluation: Regularly evaluate genset performance and efficiency. Recommend and implement upgrades or replacements to maintain optimal performance.
  • End-of-Life Planning: Plan for the decommissioning and replacement of gensets as they reach the end of their operational life. Manage the disposal or recycling of decommissioned equipment.

• System Evaluation:
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular reviews of electrical systems to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Implement solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
